IELTS Writing - Using IELTS Sample Papers For Learning

IELTS Writing - Using IELTS Sample Papers For LearningMy favorite way to improve my IELTS writing skills is to write down what I have learned about the subject. While this can be quite boring, it does work for me. As I review my notes for each of my tests, I pick up on various things that I need to improve on.For example, one of my essays may not have been the best representation of what my group was talking about. During a discussion about asparagus, I learned that people often like to add salt or cheese to their dishes. So now I have to remember that I am supposed to discuss food. This lesson is actually relevant in class since I am reviewing the lesson.Another thing I used to learn from my IELTS study group was to listen to their opinions. I found that by observing their movements, expressions, and mannerisms I could draw conclusions about my own performance. This way I would learn to recognize errors in my own writing and start to see where I needed to improve. This also goes a l ong way towards keeping my focus on the material. When it comes to actual testing, the biggest benefit to be gained is learning how to anticipate what questions will come up. It would be easy to miss an important point during the test, if you were not paying attention to what was going on around you. After all, this is a professional exam, not some Saturday afternoon fun-filled 'enjoyment activity'.My second favorite way to get help with my IELTS writing is to talk to others who are taking the test with me. The best time to speak to them is before we go to our practice test. By knowing what the questions will be, you can plan what you will say.A third way to improve my IELTS writing skills is to seek help from other people who are better writers than I am. You can ask for advice and tell them what you are going to do. This way they can give you their insights as well. They will be able to provide you with good ideas and even ways of phrasing things that you might not otherwise think of.Finally, I use multiple sample papers to start writing my own. These essays are a good way to practice and improve on my own essays. By using these samples, I feel like I am working at a real exam.So if you are serious about improving your IELTS writing skills, I urge you to continue to use this strategy. Remember, that the goal is to memorize what you will be reading on your tests.
